Last month at Queens Exchange we opened the shop on a Sunday for a few hours to raise money for Shelter Hope of Thousand Oaks Animal Rescue. This is a shelter my family and I have personally fostered with (& failed - we ended up adopting!). I've always been in awe of how small in comparison this rescue is to others but how impactful they've been. They often rescue senior pets from being euthanized and successfully re home them.
Queens Exchange organized a fun halloween costume fundraiser event where we sold donated costumes for $5 each. We were able to raise a modest $100 (selling 20 donated costumes over the coarse of 3 weeks!) and Queens Exchange will match that amount to total $200 for Shelter Hope. Thank you very much for your donation and your purchase from our first fundraiser. We could not have done this without our community!
Holiday Mini-Market
Which brings me to our next in-house event! This Sunday November 11th and November 18th (vendors will vary each date)- we are hosting 10 local women owned businesses at our shop. Each of these businesses are local to Thousand Oaks and Ventura County. Each vendor will have a special in-store offer to get your holiday shopping started.
Black Friday and Cyber Monday often overshadow the efforts of a one woman show or small business. Small businesses are given "Small Business Saturday" to promote but often its not as effective or profitable as you would imagine. It takes a VILLAGE to get noticed and to be remembered when you have competition with Amazon and large department stores. Stop by on November 11 or November 18 from 11:00am - 6:00pm to enjoy music, snacks and special sales!

Toys for Tots Donation Location
Queens Exchange Consignment Boutique is a Toys for Tots Donation location from now through December 9, 2023 during store hours!
Stop in and drop off an unwrapped toy and in return you'll receive a $5 coupon off your next purchase. Each coupon is limited to 1 per person regardless of how many gifts are donated.

Community and Consignment
November 4th starts our 3rd month since opening and we are pleased to announce that 65 consignors have joined the Queens Exchange consignment community with many already receiving their payouts (the largest payout was over $500!).
We started out this journey as resellers, so we don't have anything against thrift stores, yard sales or resale apps but it's really awesome to see our community directly benefiting with each sale.
